PROLOGUE

Monday 12 January 2015

Hmm, where do I begin?

I have been contemplating so much as to how I really want to start off with this blog.
The first post is kind of a big deal, I wasn't sure if I should talk about a specific topic right off the bat, or if I should keep it low-key and start with an introduction. I kept procrastinating that results to pretty much an empty page on my Microsoft Word.

Seriously? Yep, and if I tell you how long it took me to finish this post, I might as well write an essay to cover the subject "How procrastinating will never get you anywhere".
Maybe one day.

Perhaps the most frequently asked questions I get from those who know about my "secret project" (Yes, it was a big time secret but I mentioned it on my Instagram anyway) were either "what do you get out of a blog?" or, "are you selling clothes now?". lol.
Straight up.

"There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy". - Robert Louise Stevenson.

Tell you the truth, I wasn't even concerned with any of those.
I. Just. Want. To. Write. As simple as that.

I came across a quote on the internet one day, and it never leaves my mind ever since. I had to write it down on my wardrobe's slide door so that I can see it every day with my Asian eyes and make no excuses for the things that I cannot do. It says:

"Every night before bed, I think about this question; "If I live everyday the same way I did today, what kind of future would that create?" It forces me to constantly evaluate wether or not my actions are lining up with my priorities. The future is shaped one day at a time, and it's never as far as we think." - Some entrepreneur I just can't recall his name (Sorry mate, my bad.)

There and then, I knew that it was really time for me to start doing something with my life, not that I'm jobless and do nothing all day apart from watching the latest episode of k-drama while eating popcorn, but to actually start something that I have always wanted to do and make it happen. BAM.
People say when there's a will there's a way and that's when I met Elke, the talent behind the photographs you see on this post.

We met up over a cup of chai tea one day and discussed our opinion on the blog, what am I after specifically, theme, background, style, and what not. 3 months later, magic happened right on her sister's doorstep.

Funny now that I came to think of it, how all these can happen with just that extra bit of effort I put up on that Gumtree ad looking for a photographer to staying up late working on the blog template (still not a clue on HTML) and here it is, my first official post. I hope when I look back to this post 5 years from now I will not want to delete it from history but instead be proud as F*. Excuse my french.

My absolute fav from the shoot, not sure if I like it because of how flawless my hair was or because for once I actually sit like a lady.

I'll catch yall later. xx
